Welcome
to the Holiday Beach website. The Association has received feedback from many property owners that they would
like the website to be updated more frequently. To this end this section will be devoted to current happenings
and we will try to update on the first of every month.
Updated
February 20, 2008
1. The contract for
rebuilding the boat ramp was signed with S & S Construction on November 20, 2007 for $54,440.00. A bank
loan of $40,000.00 was obtained from Prosperity Bank in Rockport, Texas at 7.70% with a twenty-four month payback. Construction has
started and the contractor has ninety days to complete the work. Contractor estimates he will complete job
in forty-five days weather permitting. Our requests for donations to pay for the renovations are under way.
Check the state of donations on the Boat ramp. Ted Logeman was the largest contributor for two weeks; David Dial now
has the top spot. What greater recognition could you possibly receive then being the Top Boat Ramp Donator on the Holiday
Beach Website?
Well...anyway, please donate and help us get out of debt.
Thanks
Bill Schmidt
a. Boat Ramps
Are Complete.
Yes the boat ramps have been completed, but still need clean up and
grading done around the area and then they will be ready to use. Rooster Bassett and a friend launched a 21' single
axle trailer (asked by the workers) with ease, and retrieval was just as easy. We ask that you give the concrete
a little more time to cure completely and the grading work to be done before using the ramps. We are considering
a Grand Opening for the Boat Ramps once everything has been completed. Thanks to everyone for your input, questions
and donations.
2. As of 2/1/08 the
Large Boat Ramps are open. Final grading will be completed when the ground is dry. Please try to use the new ramps
as much as possible in the next month and advise us of any problems. We still have a 10% retainage for problems.
We hope to have a Grand Opening in the future for the Boat Ramps. These new boat ramps are the largest improvement in
Holiday Beach since the subdivision was developed and should last many years. The donations to date for the boat
ramps is $12,132.20 with over 119 property owners have donated to date. We will still need help in repaying our loan - Please use the
ramp and if it is satisfactory please make a donation. Check out the photos of the new ramp under Boat Ramp Donations.
3.
As a fundraiser for HBPOA a Local Artist, Property Owner & HBPOA Board Member, Rose Arp has donated a beautiful Redfish
stained glass potrait which we will be raffled off at the Fish Fry on May 24, 2008. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 tickets
for $5.00 and are available from the office or any board member or others around Holiday Beach. See the Redfish potrait
picture below.
Fish Fry, did I mention Fish Fry. The First Annual (hopefully the first
of many) will be held on Saturday May 24, 2008, Memorial Day weekend. Donations of $5.00 for fried red fish, trout and
catfish along with side dishes. Watch the website for exact menu as we get closer to May 24, 2008.
4. The HBPOA office will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00
PM.
5. If we don't have your email address you are missing
proactive information about Holiday Beach, The Lamar Penisula, and the rest of Aransas County that may affect you as a property
owner. So please provide us with your email address thru this website if you want to stay on top of whats going
on in Holiday Beach and Aransas County.
For those who are not on
our email express a printed newsletter (snail mail) will be out some time in early March, 2008.
6. Have
you checked the Bulletin Board/Classified Section? there are vendors for lawn mowing, brush hogs, house cleaning,
etc. Also for property owners there is a section called "items for sale", notices and
lost and found. Let us know and will let your neighbors know...can't hurt.
In
an effort to help the Association keep the website up to date we ask that you please email us any information that you would
like to share on the website. This would include any events, stories, pictures, etc. that would help make the website a useful
and enjoyable resource for all property owners.
